Expensive materials and obvious luxury aside, Leung retains a sense of traditionalism through the use of rice paper, blonde wooden frames, carefully placed orchids and constrained floral silk features. His practiced hand is evidenced in the styling of the first unmistakably oriental bedroom. What could only be taken to represent Carp, positioned schooling above the bed, is an exercise in accessorizing that is repeated in later clearly European influenced spaces. White conversation pieces and silver statement pieces are increasingly incorporated without compromising the functionality or size of the interiors. Leung's beautifully executed sedimentary bathroom, like colored desert sands in a glass bottle, marks a shift in palettes.
